Our balcony rooms have floor to ceiling windows which enables the guest to access the balcony at their own risk. The building was built in the 1820’s and as much as we have tried to soundproof the rooms, there is still a bit of noise from room to room. If you are sensitive to noise please let us know and we will do our best to allocate you one of the top floor bedrooms. Our building is full of Brighton charm with single-glazed windows, and although we are on a quiet square there may be some passers by (and seagulls) where we are unable to control their level of noise.

We welcome children and always do our utmost to ensure they have a great time whilst with us, which makes our Inn a great place for a family treat! As we are a pub there may be times, especially at the weekends, where the ground floor may not be a suitable environment for young children. Please also note that rooms are located above the pub and restaurant, and there may occasionally be some noise disturbance as we are an old building.

Whats the soundproofing like?

The building is a 16th century farmhouse, that was later converted into a pub as the Mason family’s gift to their butler. As much as we have tried to soundproof the rooms, there is still a bit of noise from room to room, and the windows are the original leaded windows with single pane glass. However, The Barn Suite is in a separate building therefore it’s very quiet. Overall, we are located in the middle of the Oxfordshire countryside, and the surrounding area is very peaceful and calm!
