Salary: £32,000 – 40,000 per year

About Us

Situated in the pretty hamlet of South Leigh, just 10 minutes from Witney, we are a pub like no other! There are 10 individually designed rooms and a Shepherds Hut (with more being built this Spring), Summer marquee, garden hut bbq & bar and herb and veg garden.

We are excited to be on the lookout for a superstar Head Chef… someone that can really take us to the next level and is passionate about making sure each and every guest has an unforgettable dining experience.

The pub & restaurant is the heartbeat of the hotel. Open all day, our aim is to provide a magical space for guests to relax, eat, drink and be merry, as well as a neighbourhood hub for locals. Our approach to food? We believe in fresh never frozen, menus that work with the seasons and ingredients-led cooking that champions the fantastic produce within the local area. Fancy silver-service, we are not… Wholesome, rustic & down-to-earth with a dose of creativity we are! Our ambience is casual and relaxed with a bohemian vibe, whilst always providing impeccable service and hospitality so that our guests can’t wait to return.


The Role

Working alongside our Executive Chef, this is an opportunity to really take take your career to the next level and make your mark in putting the pub & restaurant as not just a neighbourhood hub, but also a magical destination dining experience within itself for those who want it. You will be responsible for menu creation working alongside the Head Chef, whilst also leading and continually inspiring the team to always take pride in every dish we serve. Under your stewardship, food will always taste amazing, be beautifully presented and a team culture that continually drives for excellence.

Stock will be well managed (wastage is a big ‘no-no’ for us), rotas will be done on time, the day-to-day kitchen operations smooth & efficient, and the kitchen always a safe and hygienic place to work. You will continually inspire, coach and train the team to be the best they can be, leading by example and ensuring a happy, motivated and confident kitchen team full of superstars.


Who are we looking for?

For the Head Chef role you will need to be confident, energetic and and great at managing a small team to always stay calm under pressure. You will have an inherent passion for continually guiding, coaching and training your team. You must have a great eye for presentation in a rustic style and love for ingredients-based cooking.

Although we’ll teach you everything you need to know, you’ll need to have proven ability of kitchen management in a similar Sous or Head Chef role.
