The Role
Breakfast is an important part of every stay at Artist Residence Penzance.
We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Breakfast Chef to independently run our morning service, preparing fresh, wholesome food and ensuring every plate is served to a consistently high standard.
This role covers a mix of shifts throughout the week and is ideal for someone who enjoys early starts and having their afternoons free. There may also be opportunities to support weekend lunches and take on additional shifts as the season develops.

• Running breakfast service independently.

As these are early-morning shifts, you’ll need to live locally or be able to travel to work reliably.

Working five days per week, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the café. You’ll lead breakfast service, serve exceptional coffee and help prepare and present our fresh daytime offering. You’ll also support our popular weekend brunch and lunch services when required, ensuring a consistently warm and memorable experience for hotel guests, London locals and visitors alike. A Typical Day • Taking ownership of the café’s day-to-day service. • Preparing and serving excellent speciality coffee, teas, fresh juices and smoothies. • Delivering warm, attentive service to hotel guests, locals and visitors. • Leading breakfast service and supporting our daytime food offering. • Preparing and serving fresh salads, sandwiches, light bites and cakes. • Supporting weekend brunch and lunch services when required. • Creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where every guest feels recognised and cared for. • Getting to know our regulars and helping the café become a true neighbourhood favourite. • Maintaining attractive displays, high standards and an inviting café environment. • Managing stock and ordering while keeping the café organised and ready for service. • Working closely with the House Manager and wider hotel team to deliver exceptional hospitality every day. Previous experience in a café or hospitality environment is important, while knowledge of speciality coffee would be a real advantage.
