Brighton - Breakfast Chef
We’re a small but friendly team, and we’re looking for two Breakfast Chef’s to join us. This role will be shared between two people, covering the week between you — ideal for someone local who enjoys morning work and daytime hours

Artist Residence Brighton is a relaxed, characterful 27-bedroom boutique hotel on Regency Square, overlooking the West Pier. We’re known for warm, friendly hospitality and a laid-back atmosphere, and breakfast is an important part of how guests start their day with us.
We’re a small but friendly team, and we’re looking for two Breakfast Chef’s to join us. This role will be shared between two people, covering the week between you — ideal for someone local who enjoys morning work and daytime hours.
You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast for our hotel guests, working solo in an open kitchen. Breakfast is cooked to order and ranges from fresh, simple cold dishes through to classic hot plates.
Hours:
Weekdays: 7.15am – 10.45am
Weekends: 7.30am – 12.00pm
This role would suit someone who lives nearby, enjoys early starts, and likes finishing work by late morning

The Role
As House Manager, you are responsible for the smooth running of the hotel during your shift.
You are the key decision-maker on site — holding the building, supporting the team, and ensuring both guests and operations run seamlessly.
Your responsibilities include:
Hotel Operations
Managing guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and warmly
Overseeing reservations, guest communications, and daily arrivals/departures
Ensuring bedrooms are ready on time and housekeeping schedules are clear
Maintaining presentation and standards across rooms and public areas
Handling guest queries, complaints and problem-solving with confidence
Managing room allocations and working with the reservations system
Ensuring compliance, safety and security procedures are followed
Food & Beverage Leadership
Leading front-of-house service from breakfast through to evening drinks
Supporting bar and restaurant service when required
Ensuring smooth communication between kitchen, bar and floor
Maintaining service standards and atmosphere
Team & Administration
Acting as Duty Manager for the shift
Leading and supporting the team on the floor
Completing cash-ups, daily reports and basic admin
Ensuring clear handovers between shifts
Schedule
Seasonal - full time in the summer and busy months
Must be available weekends
During quieter periods, you may run the house independently. In busier seasons, you’ll lead alongside a larger team — keeping service flowing and standards high.

Experience running shifts in a small hotel, boutique hotel, or pub with rooms

Supervisory or managerial experience in hospitality
Confidence making decisions and handling issues independently
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
A warm, natural hosting style
You don’t need to have held the exact title “House Manager” before — but you should be comfortable taking ownership of a small hotel during your shift.
